Mercer Island Ushers in the Year of the Fire Horse with Community-Wide Lunar New Year Celebration

Mid-Autumn Festival Carnival welcomed 3000+ attendees from the community, made it one of the biggest celebrations of its kind in Puget Sound.

The Mid-Autumn Festival Carnival, held on September 22, 2024, was a tremendous success and marked the largest celebration of this cherished holiday in the Puget Sound region. With over 3,000 attendees, 22 performances, and more than 60 partnering organizations, it was a true testament to the strength and unity of our community.

The Story of MICA

Mercer Island Chinese Association (MICA) was founded in 2016 by a group of friends determined to help other community members and celebrate Chinese heritage. It has since evolved into a well-recognized organization within the Chinese American community in the Greater Seattle Area.

Through various cultural, artistic, and educational initiatives, we strive to help the Chinese community maintain and celebrate their rich cultural traditions, and to build bridges between the Chinese community and our neighbors, fostering understanding and enriching the lives of all residents.
