Save the Date: Mid-Autumn Festival Carnival Returns to Mercer Island on September 20

The Mercer Island Chinese Association (MICA), in partnership with the City of Mercer Island, invites the community to save the date for the Mid-Autumn Festival Carnival on Sunday, September 20, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center.

With generous support from 4Culture and the Mercer Island Community Fund, this annual celebration brings together families from across the region to experience the traditions and joy of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

This year’s event will again feature amazing live cultural performances, including traditional dance, musical instruments, and kung fu demonstrations, as well as family-friendly carnival games and a selection of specialty food and beverages.

In addition, two exciting elements will further enrich the experience:

• A Community Resource Fair, highlighting organizations that offer Chinese language learning opportunities for children and provide services to seniors and families in both English and Chinese.

• A deeper focus on traditional arts and crafts, with hands-on activities such as calligraphy, lacquer fan making, textile dyeing, embroidery, sugar painting, and paper cutting.

This announcement serves as a save-the-date, and organizers are currently welcoming performers and sponsors interested in being part of this vibrant community event.
